26-year-old Moran Ben-Shabbat currently resides in Hadera. Before his injury, Moran was a surfing instructor, managing different camps and surfing courses. Moran used to compete in the Israel Surfing Association and won a number of competitions at the age of 17. Moran also enjoys fishing, free diving, and from his boat.
Moran joined the Navy’s intelligence unit and suffered from a back injury, which caused inflammation in his spine and nerve damage to his legs.
Challenge: Stability on the fishing boat
Moran has trouble stabilizing himself on his fishing boat due to the complications with his legs. Ideally, the solution will allow him to remain standing, without limiting the use of his arms. This will allow Moran to continue fishing without the constant fear of falling.
