Ron Weinreich, 36, lives in Tel Aviv.
Ron served as a tank commander in the Armored Corps, was wounded in the spine during the Second Lebanon War, and has been wheelchair-bound ever since. Proper posture of the human body is with a straight back, straight head with your shoulders back. People in wheelchairs, on the other hand, have quite the opposite- shoulders forward, head back, and it is an extremely uncomfortable position. The muscles and body get stuck in this position, creating a lot of stress and discomfort. This creates an issue with sleeping. Even though Ron enters a horizontal position, which is supposed to release the sitting posture, the body returns to what it is familiar with and becomes bent and closed.
The challenge: A sleeping-aid pillow
Ron gets up every morning with extreme discomfort and pain. He is looking for a solution that will keep his body in the desired laying position without allowing it to return to the bent position that it is usually in during the day.
